Toddlers- 18 months to 2.5 years
Welcome to the toddler group. This program is for children aged 18 months to 2.5 years.
We have four centres that welcome toddlers: two are located east of the city and another two west. We encourage you to add your child to our waiting list as soon as possible because there is high demand for this age group.
What is special about the toddler group are the major developmental milestones that the children reach. Over the course of the handful of months they spend in our programs, your children’s growth will soar. They will work on their language skills, learn to share and wait their turn, and develop their gross and fine motor skills. Our education teams (certified educators and educational assistants) guide your children through all their exploration and discovery. As mentioned in the document entitled How Does Learning Happen?, our educators treat your children as competent individuals, capable of complex thought and filled with curiosity and great potential. Every day, our teams work alongside your children on quality programs based on positive education, a caring approach and trust.
Ce que nous offrons
A ratio of 1 adult to 5 children.
There is always one certified educator in charge in the classroom and one assistant at all times for a group of 10 children.
Curriculums created each week are based on the educator team’s (educator and assistant) observations of your children. Our curriculums propose activities appropriate to the developmental capabilities of the children and their individual needs. In the context of daily life, our pedagogy is based on positive and caring education. (Example of weekly programming)
Using the Himama Program
Receive photos of your children and real time updates on their activities, whether they are eating, taking a nap or playing. Learn about what your child is doing during the day through a daily detailed report. Discover in advance what the educators are planning by consulting the calendar and the planned activities for the upcoming week or month.
Providing information to parents
Information is provided to parents in the mornings and evenings describing how your child’s day went, and parent/educator meetings are held twice a year to discuss your child’s development.
Specialized teachers from outside agencies offer workshops such as music, theater and yoga.
We also provide our Anglophone community with the opportunity of registering their children in the immersion program at the Coxwell LCPR.
